Venue SIX10 at Spertus Institute
Venue SIX10 is the facilities management division of Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership. We manage over 50,000 sq ft in our environmentally-friendly South Michigan Avenue facility, including space rental and event planning and management. We offer stunning architecture, panoramic views and outstanding hospitality for clients ranging from Fortune 500s, non-profits and entrepreneurs to brides and grooms.
The award-winning Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership building — designed by Chicago-based Krueck + Sexton Architects — opened in 2007. The building is proud to be the recipient of a number of prestigious awards including the Chicago Design Excellence Award from the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) and the Patron of the Year Award from the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
The facility is also committed to promoting green initiatives with its sustainable design and was awarded a Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

We are powered by 100% renewable energy. We reduce, reuse and recycle:
- Computer-controlled lighting and HVAC systems to reduce wasted usage
- Frits bonded onto the glass windows to control heat gain and glare
- Eco-friendly building materials including low- or no-VOC paint
- Green Roof with special vegetation to absorb air pollution, collect rainwater, and help cool the building
- Green Seal Certified cleaning products both non-toxic and eco-friendly
- Green focused caterers purchase locally and organically whenever possible.
- On-site compost and recycling systems to reduce event-generated waste by approximately 40 tons per year
Daniel Freedman, General Manager
Daniel, a third generation from his family in the hospitality industry, brings more than two decades of experience in fine dining, catering, beverage, country club, and venue management. He has worked with top rated hotels, as well as a national food management company at a Chicago North Shore entertainment institution where he managed high volume catering operations, and exclusive wine sales.
He is a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, and a Certified Beer Server under the Cicerone Certification Program. Daniel has been a panelist for education seminars at the National Restaurant Association Show, spoken at various industry trade events, and has been featured in the Sommelier Journal, Wine Spectator and Tasting Panel Magazine.
Daniel has a degree in Hospitality Business from the Eli Broad School of Business at Michigan State University. In addition to his love of wine, he is a diehard Chicago Blackhawks fan, and loves to spend time with his wife and two adorable girls. He loves to travel!
Jessica Self, Event Sales Associate
Jessica is a Chicago native who joined Venue SIX10 after 10 years in the catering business. Jessica uses her degrees in Event Management and Hospitality Management to help plan social and weekend events such as wedding celebrations, fundraising events/galas, mitzvahs, holiday parties, etc. Outside of work, Jessica loves to spend time with her family, including her pets: Sheepadoodle, Perry, and Dwarf Rabbit, Tootsie.
Anna Chudzinski, Sales Coordinator
A lifelong Chicagoan, Anna earned her degree in English from Loyola University Chicago and began her career in marketing. In her new role, she brings her communication and coordination skills to the table by helping prospective clients discover everything Venue SIX10 has to offer. When not at work, you’ll find Anna in her craft room—from stationery to party decor and everything in between, Anna has a passion for bringing creative ideas to life! She’s also an animal lover with a soft spot for Border Collies and a connoisseur of all things chocolate.
Kate Crockett, Event Manager
Kate manages all aspects of planning and execution for VenueSix10’s corporate events. Her prior experience includes work as sole proprietor of her own catering company as well as critical roles in numerous other catering driven operations in Miami Beach, Virginia, Washington, D.C, and Chicago. Kate is happy to be back here in the Chicago area where she grew up. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University and a Master of Science in Hospitality Marketing from Florida International University.
Sadie Montgomery, Event Manager
Sadie manages all aspects of planning and execution for social events hosted here at Venue Six10. Her extensive work experience in various hospitality related fields has given her a diverse range of food and beverage knowledge to draw upon. Sadie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Communications from Carthage College. She is also skilled in social media and has a solid knowledge of hospitality mixology as well.
Anthony Wagner, Technical Manager
Anthony Wagner is a Technical Manager whose work is focused on the direction, execution, and implementation of audio-visual services used in live events. His appreciation for the arts especially in film and television led him to pursue a degree in production and eventually a career in the live event industry. Since then, he has worked all around the Chicagoland area gaining experience in sound, video, lighting, pre and postproduction, as well as team leadership. Live events also play a part of his free time as he enjoys attending concerts and festivals, but also loves traveling and camping to unwind.
Venue SIX10 is located at 610 South Michigan Avenue between Harrison Street and Balbo Drive. 24-hour covered self-parking is available at Grant Park South Garage (Millennium Park South Garage) below street level on Michigan Ave between Adams and Van Buren. Vehicle clearance is 6’8”.
